Birthday!!!

June 4, 2010 at 9:03 pm (Uncategorized)

My very good friend Ingeborg Marie had a very good idea for my birthday presant!  She made a treasure hunt for me with each clue written by one of my friends/family.  The idea was that I would be able to share my day with some of all of the people that I wished could have been there with me.  This is just a little blog with pictures from the event itself.  Thank you SO MUCH to all of you who participated, it meant so much to me to “have you there”.

The search started when Ingeborg Marie out of the blue handed me this first clue:

“En gåte, en rød tråd.

For jeg vet hvordan det kan være å ha en floke av tråder som ikke henger sammen.

Om de føles usammenhengende har de en viktig ting til felles.  Hvilken da?

Gå der floken er størst i huset!”

Which led me, after some searching, to her knitting basket!

There I found a peice of toilet paper, penned with the following ingeneous poem:

Noen sitter lenge

noen sitter kort

det du slipper nedi

mister du for godt

Er det porselen blir det

fort kaldt

mister du’n på tåa

blir du faktisk halt

Vil du lese eller tenke

enten du er gift eller

enke

valget er ditt og resultatet er dritt…

Når du er ferdig blir

du så glad

lett i tarm og blære

danser du så bra!

Du spiser litt og drikker litt,

så er du her igjen

du skjønner ganske fort

at jeg blir din faste venn!

I ran to the bathroom! =) (By the way thank you Guro!  I didn’t know until afterwards that it was from you ;)

“We blew a certain kind of “dust” at poor miriam.  It didn’t make her fly but earned us spankings.  There is a movie I have yet to see that will keep you moving along! =)”

There I found the next clue.   Thinking that it was also from Ima I was pretty confused…  Until I realised that it was from my own dear Lillian!

TINKERBELL! =)

Next came mommy and her specially created crossword =)  Brilliant =)

Sent me off to out “sikringsskap!”

Next came Irene’s turn with memories back to celebrations in our own “klossen”.  Next stop was the lego box on top of our shelfs.  (Ser bildet litt kjent ut Irene&Kjersti? ;)

Next was Leif-Arne’s turn.

I had to work hard to find his clue, in the food garbage!!!

Kenneth’s clue was next which lead me, (where else but) to the reading hall!

There I found Kjersti Ofte Jakobsen’s clue!

Sending me to the dreaded “guttegarderoben” :O

The descent

Entering unknown territory, (Anyone in there?  Yell, loud, now!!!)

I really have to go all the way into the showers!!!?

And the next clue… Well it was HARD!

“Whenever asked you would come…  No matter how used the bag!  You knew the difference between formal and informal.  Where is the good stuff kept these days?”

Anyone who has any clue has my deepest respect!  I finally got it after Katie hummed “Doe a deer” stopping at “tea! (a drink with jam and bread)” =)  Rebecca, I’m really glad you didn’t underestimate my intelligence :P

And it was off to the “Tea safe!”

There, I found, (after quite a bit of unintelligent fumbling) a beautiful Katie-painting of her and me hugging a tree!  So all I had to do was find the tree!  (Easier said than done…)

And in the tree one from Ima’s father!  YAY!!! =)  And a pretty clear clue lead me off to the library, section: Martin Luther!

And standing there in the library I got to decipher a latin note by our freshest latin expert Torkel!  And where other than the potatoe bin in our cellar? =)

My joy thereafter was immense when I realised that the next note came from one of my friends that knows me as Madjnuni (crazy one in Arabic ;) ) Dearest Krista, thank you for your lovely and touching note =)  It lead me quite nicely to the guitar!

Then one from my Miri :D   You made me laugh!  And run to the freezer =)

There I found a note from Signe-Lisa reminding me of the time we met a snake in the forest…  Long story short, the next stop was my Bible ;)

The next clue, from Emily made me laugh and moan and sigh and laugh some more!  Phonetics!!!  My passion.  My joy.  MY so much I’ve forgotten!!!  But with a little help from my CanIL t-shirt everything went well ;)

In beautiful phonetic script:

UNDER THE BED!

So I ran and looked!

And there I found my gift. A cup with pictures of all of you on it! =)

YAYYY!

Thank you everybody! :)
